Think publishing is easy? Think again!
From adhering to editorial standards and managing peer review processes to copy editing and formatting, scholarly publishing is hard work. Not to mention the downstream services scholarly publishers provide, like depositing to PubMed and repositories. Done right, publishing adds tremendous value to the literature. Which in turn, helps advance the body of scientific knowledge.
Unfortunately, scholarly publishers rarely get the credit they deserve.
In honor of the SSP 41st Annual Meeting being held this week, we at Reprints Desk would like to take a moment to recognize scholarly publishers worldwide for all that they do. We appreciate you!
The Value of Partnership
Reprints Desk has numerous publisher partnerships, and we value the mutual benefits these relationships bring. In addition to the academic and corporate customers we share with our publishing partners, Reprints Desk also serves smaller organizations that may not currently subscribe to our partners' publications. Many Reprints Desk customers use our service because of the cross-publisher aggregation we provide—which enables them to augment their subscriptions with ad hoc article purchases.
It’s a win-win-win situation for Reprints Desk, our publishing partners, and the mutual customers we share!
Publishers enjoy working with us for a variety of reasons. Our partnership helps them:
- Increase PPV and rental revenue
- Convert more a la carte customers into subscribers
- Maintain a connection with customers when subscriptions lapse
Sadly, non-compliant pirate sources that disregard copyright are a problem faced by many publishers. Reprints Desk is a welcome alternative to those illegal sources and is happy to provide publishers with revenue from articles we deliver on their behalf.
